BioDownloader interface mode: Basic vs. Advanced
When the user becomes familiar and comfortable with BioDownloader,
the user might
consider switching the interface mode from Basic to Advanced.
In Advanced mode more application features are available and they are not
hidden as they are in Basic mode.
How to switch between Basic and
Advanced modes:
Click the last button in the Main toolbar :

4) Main Menu → User → Preferences becomes available:

In the user Preferences you can:
- specify if the fields input is validated and parsed
- select how tasks are added to the task list table
- choose if the Tool windows are docked
- require whether the task chosen in the first tab page should be the same as in the
Log
tab page
- request tab page switching to the log tab page when the task is launched
- turn on/off Internet/Firewall notification during each application start
- etc.

The additional items allow the user to
- export the current task list
- save the current task list under the default filename Username.autosave.list
- append a previously exported (saved) task list to the current task list
- append recent task lists to the current task list
