In BioDownloader the term, task, is associated with a single download or update task. It contains information about what ftp/http server to download/update files from, specifies remote server location, target file mask(s), local computer destination folder and in addition defines connection, authorization and other required parameters. |

In other words, a task is a piece of information to uniquely identify a single download process.
A task can be of two types: either ftp or http, depending on what type of server is envolved in downloading files from.
